Jupiter has discovered two new Trojan

Asteroids are dark or glowing stone with a matt, non-reflective surface. And those that are ahead of Jupiter is much larger that behind.

"Jupiter and Saturn now in peace, in stable orbits. But just have a very rough. And we think that these meteorites are orbiting Jupiter millions and even billions of years - at a time when the solar system was formed only "- said Tommy Graves, a scientist from the Planetary Science Institute in Tucson, in Arizona.

Note Trojan asteroids of Jupiter - a group of asteroids that are in the vicinity of the Lagrange points L4 and L5 of Jupiter in the orbital resonance of 1:1. These asteroids were named after characters in the Trojan War described in the Iliad. There is a tradition to name the asteroids around the L4 point of the Greek heroes, and on the point of L5 - the defenders of Troy. Hector and Patroclus were "out of place", since this tradition was formed later.

"We found the diameter and the reflectivity of the surface of Jupiter's Trojans in 1750. And we are in this business rose by an order when they saw the two asteroid "- added in an interview with Graves Science Daily.

By the way, a couple of weeks ago, scientists discovered a new Trojan for Neptune - the asteroid 2011 NM102. Celestial body moves almost exactly the orbit of the planet, which corresponds to the definition of a Trojan satellite. The asteroid has a size of 90 to 180 kilometers.
Note, the first Neptune Trojan was discovered in 2001 - to date they were known to 8. New Trojan team of astronomers has found New Horizons KBO Search team. She is searching for Kuiper belt objects that could potentially be targeted for probe NASA New Horizons.
