India will join the Earth observation missions

Toronto signed an agreement on cooperation between NASA and the Indian Space Agency for join the Earth observation missions.

Last month, the MAVEN spacecraft and the Indian spacecraft MOM arrived safely to the Red Planet with a difference of only a few days. In honor of that event, the Indian space probe for the first time in the history of mankind has reached Mars; 


NASA representatives signed an agreement on cooperation in the exploration of Mars with the leadership of the Indian Research Space Agency ISRO. In addition, according to this agreement India should join the mission on Earth Observations at the end of this year. The agreement was signed in Toronto during the International Astronautical Congress in 2014.

Thanks to the agreement signed, MAVEN spacecraft and MOM can share information about Mars, analyzed data, and help each other in the course of the study of the Red Planet.

In addition, the Congress signed the second contract between NASA and ISRO to implement the joint space mission in 2020. It is the mission of Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR). This research satellite will study the changes occurring on the surface of the Earth.
